Margie Dana Our big BPB news
this week is that the audio CD from our BPB Conference is finally "ready for
prime time!" See full notice below. Thanks for subscribing to Margie's Print Tips, written to build bridges between the printing industry and its customers.
Readers' Views, Fit to Print Thanks to all of you who wrote after last week's Print Tip about the downward slide of printed daily newspapers. I'm still reading about this trend every day. In the February issue of Vanity Fair, Michael Wolff writes about the motives of rich men who want to buy competing US newspapers. The article's called "Billionaires and Broadsheets," and you can read it online (sound familiar?) at www.vanityfair.com. (He says that "only old people read daily newspapers." Well, I never. . .) Last Tuesday it was reported that the three largest US newspaper publishers Gannett, McClatchy and Tribune) want to sell advertising jointly on their newspapers' Web sites. It would bring them all new online revenue. Clearly I showed my age when admitting to reading the dailies, and I suppose I ought to save a juicy issue or two for my future grandchildren, when they want to know about things I grew up with "way back when." I asked for your comments and received them. Today I'm sharing some of the reader feedback. I heard from folks across the US - and in Australia. Even Dr. Joe Webb checked in on this one.
