Want to learn more about the inner workings of a commercial printing company? Curious about how printers are affected by industry consolidations? Ever wonder how printers would describe an "ideal customer"?
Here is your chance to hear these insights - and much more.
We have invited three commercial printing firms to participate in a first-ever printer panel discussion, where the only people allowed in the audience will be print customers.
-
Is going green important to these printers?
-
What will their equipment list look like in 5 years?
-
How are they embracing new technology?
Come join us on March 21st as we "Meet the Press" as never before: in an open discussion that is designed to enlighten print customers and foster greater understanding between them and New England print providers.
Our Program
We invite print purchasing professionals to register for this very special panel discussion, as we learn from three successful printers all about serving today's print customers.
When you register for this event, you're welcome to pose a question for the panel. In addition, Margie Dana will be compiling her own list of questions, and she will act as moderator. Panelists will see the questions in advance, but on-site questions will definitely be encouraged.
Here is your chance to listen to printers discuss how they are adapting to the new era of printing and to ask them your own questions.
Dinner will be served, and a fun-filled Trivia Contest with prizes will take place after the discussion.
Meet Our Printer Panelists
Boston Print Buyers is honored to have three firms sponsoring our March dinner meeting. Representatives on the panel are all experienced industry professionals. They are:
Gina Deschamps
Sales & Marketing Manager
Deschamps
Printing
Gina has been in the graphic arts industry for nearly 25 years, having started her career in the paper business. She "crossed over to the dark side" by joining her family printing business about five years ago. Gina also serves on the Board of Directors of AIGA Boston and is the current Chairman of the Board of the Printing and Publishing Council of New England.
Deschamps Printing in Salem, MA, is a completely state-of-the art, mid-size printer offering both offset and digital printing services. Recent additions to their service offerings include a new on-line ordering system, meaning that they can now offer qualified clients the opportunity to customize an on-line, web-based ordering system.
Ken Michaud
Co-owner, Chairman and CEO
George H. Dean Company
Ken Michaud is a 3rd-generation print professional who heads up the family-owned George H. Dean Company in Braintree, MA. Ken's experience includes 30 years in printing, having begun his graphics arts career in the paper industry. He has worked in prepress, press, bindery, customer service and sales. Ken is a Former Director of PINE (Printing Industries of New England).
George Dean is a full-service union communications company, with broad capabilities in both financial printing and commercial printing. Within recent years, Dean added digital printing and an in-house mailing and fulfillment facility, so that today they offer their clients everything under one roof.
Kim
Taylor, Principal
Hanson Printing
Kim Taylor has worked at Hanson Printing in Brockton, MA, for nearly 30 years. For most of those years, he was considered the "right hand man" for Ken Hanson, the company's president until his retirement two years ago. As the company's GM, Kim shared the responsibility for every major business decision. In August of 2005, he and three other long-term employees purchased the company from Mr. Hanson, and they remain committed to continuing the company's reputation as one of the South Shore's premiere color printers.
Hanson Printing is a full-service, sheetfed commercial printer, serving primarily the 2- to 6-color market. They are one of the few New England printers who do hexachrome printing. Hanson offers digital prepress and design services, in-line aqueous coating, and mailing and fulfillment as well.
