Our first annual Boston Print Buyers Conference took place on Thursday, November 2nd, and we owe many people a big Thank You!
To Frank Romano, our keynoter, thank you for entertaining and educating us during lunch. You showed us history and shared a glimpse of the future of printing. We are all the wiser for listening to you. Move over, Elvis.
To all of our exhibitors and sponsors, thank you for your generous participation and support of this first annual event. The booths were beautiful (and cool). The keynote lunch, cocktails, tote bags, lanyards, and conference guide (all sponsored) were all appreciated.
To all of our speakers, who enlightened and delighted hundreds of people all day long about paper, press checks, VDP, the "British Invasion" of print management firms, digital printing, direct mail, PDFs, color management, and digital editions of magazines, we thank you all for sharing your expertise.
To our special attractions - Bhutan (the Big Book) and our letterpress specialists, thank you for shining a light on how exquisite printing can be.
To our nonprofit allies, thanks for spending the day with us!
To our BPB Board of Advisors, thank you for your wise counsel, each step of the way.
To all of our panelists and game show contestants, who weren't afraid to speak your minds and show your smarts, well, you rock!
Most of all, to every attendee, who took a whole day out of your hectic schedule to come learn with us and meet new friends and new service providers in the industry - we could not have done this without you. Having you there in full force (over 350 in all) at our first-ever conference was the best part of the day - wait, make that the best part of the past year!
Here's to many more successful conferences! Once we collect our thoughts and our feedback, we'll share highlights of the day. We audio taped most of the sessions and will be offering a CD ("Our Greatest Hits!") in a few weeks.
